Climate Justice
Ensuring Fairness and Accountability in Climate Response
Climate change disproportionately affects poor and marginalized communities, despite their limited contribution to global emissions. At EJSD, we work to advance climate justice by ensuring that the needs and voices of frontline communities are at the center of climate policies and actions.
We promote accountability in climate finance, advocate for community-led adaptation, and support equitable access to climate information and early warning systems. Our programs highlight the realities faced by communities experiencing recurring floods, droughts, and displacement, and push for policy responses that are rights-based and inclusive.
Through partnerships with civil society, media, and youth movements, we amplify calls for just transitions and climate reparations. We also engage with decision-makers to ensure that climate planning includes those most at risk.
Climate justice is not only a matter of fairness; it is essential for effective climate action. Our goal is to transform climate response mechanisms so that they serve those who need them most.
